In Chhattisgarh, the start of corona vaccination of children in the age group of 12 to 14 years has been very slow. On the first day, only one thousand 618 children could be vaccinated across the state. In Raipur district, only 31 people came to get vaccinated. The government is preparing to organizeion.Health department officials said that due to some issues related to registration in the Kovin portal, vaccination could not start at full speed. Arrangements were made to vaccinate children between the age group of 12 to 14 years only in the vaccination centers set up in the district hospitals. Now preparations are being made to increase the number of vaccination centers. Health Minister TS Singhdev said, Corona vaccine Corbevax of Hyderabad-based company Biological-E has been approved for children. 13 lakh 21 thousand 286 children are to be vaccinated across the state. 10 lakh doses of this vaccine have been received in the state, which is sufficient. Efforts are being made to provide a safety cover to the children by putting it in fast. Talks have been held with various institutions including schools. The number of its vaccination centers will be increased from next week.
Emergency clearance has been given for adolescent girls
The Drug Controller General of India had approved Corbevax for emergency use in February. Earlier DGCA has already approved Corbevax for restricted use in emergency situations among adults. Biological-E, the manufacturer of this vaccine, got permission to vaccinate children in the age group of 12 to 14 years on the basis of interim results i.e. clinical trials.
Second dose to be given in four weeks
The Corbevax vaccine for children is given intramuscularly (through the muscle). Two doses are given at an interval of 28 days. Corbevax is available in 0.5 ml (single dose) and 5 ml (10 doses) vials. It is preserved at 2 to 8 °C.
