Big change in the vaccination of children in MP:Due to the sudden increase in heat, ORS solution will be given before the vaccine, 30 lakh children will be vaccinated

A big campaign of vaccination is to be launched in Madhya Pradesh from March 23 for children in the age group of 12 to 14. Due to the sudden increase in heat in the last few days, a major change is being made in this vaccination campaign. Now every child will be given a solution of ORS before getting the Corbevax vaccine. Only then will you vaccinate. This arrangement is being made in all the schools and health centers where the vaccine is being administered. This will not cause dehydration in children. Nor will his health deteriorate. More than 30 lakh children of this age group have to be vaccinated in the state.

State Kovid Vaccination Officer Dr. Santosh Shukla said that in the midst of scorching heat, children will reach to apply the vaccine in the sun. In such a situation, they can become a victim of dehydration due to heat. They can also faint due to the decrease in the amount of sugar and salt in the body due to sweating. In such a situation, they will be given a solution of ORS (Oral Rehydration Salt), so that there is no less salt-water in the body.

Feed the children something and take them to the center

Dr. Shukla said that considering the kind of weather prevailing at present, all the parents are being requested to take the children to the center only after feeding them breakfast or something. Take special care of the amount of water in their body. Only then should they get the first dose of Corbevax vaccine. Along with bringing some food and water to the children from home, arrangements for water and ORS have also been made in every center. It is also believed that the heat will increase further in the coming days.

Carry birth certificate

There are clear instructions in the Central Kovid Portal from the Central Government that only children in the age group of 12 to 14 will get this vaccine. In this age group, children born in 2008 and 2009 along with children who are completing 12 years as on March 15, 2010, will be eligible. Even children below the age of one day will not be vaccinated. A copy of the birth certificate of the vaccinated children must be taken to the center, only after seeing it they will be vaccinated.

Do not pay attention to rumours, vaccine is safe

The parents from the city to the village are being made aware of the campaign on behalf of the top officers of the Health Department. Along with health workers and ASHA workers, children are also being motivated to get vaccinated through radio and social media. It is also being told through newspapers and news that children between the age group of 15 to 17 years who have been vaccinated so far, have not faced any problem or disease or problem so far. This vaccine is completely safe.
